To all of the wonderful supporters of Made by You…here is an update for you.

I now have Made by You set up at 7 Ronald McDonald Houses – North Fitzroy, Parkville, Monash, Hobart, Wodonga, Wagga, Adelaide, and Very Special Kids. The past 3 months have been incredible. In January I did a program at the 3 Melbourne Ronald McDonald Houses and have just done another 3 this month as part of their School Holiday Program.

On Easter Saturday I went to Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide to do a program. I had contacted them in February to see if they would like to set up Made by You and they said a huge YES. I gave them the tub with the sizing set and colouring in items and an explanation of the process. They were blown away and so excited to get underway. Sonia who is my contact there, asked if she could have a Made by You tee so she could be my “billboard”.

I have already done 19 tees for them. They email me the kid’s drawings; I print them at home and post them back. They have a lot of indigenous family’s stay there, coming from as far as the Northern Territory. When they told me that, I thought how cool it would be to print some indigenous drawings onto tees. WELL, I have been doing that. The drawings have been incredible, so powerful. To see the smiles on the kids when they get to put their tees on seriously melts my heart. I have even sent a tee to Woodroffe in the NT.

I did a tee for this little boy in Hobart and his picture showed his medical journey. He is my poster boy, smile and tee on a kid 😊

To date I have printed more than 230 tees and have updated some equipment and software, so I am now able to print the tees on the spot at the programs. I set myself up in a room with all my equipment, the kids do their drawings, bring them to me and come back an hour later and I have it printed on their very own tee. The reactions are priceless, they love them. To see them walking around with their tees on and providing the opportunity for someone to say, “is that Made by You??”. In that moment they are not defined by their illness but by the essence of who they are – gold.

The impact Made by You is having on the kids and their families is profound. Thank you so much for your support as I couldn’t provide the tees free of charge without you.

Just want to keep putting smiles and tees on kids 😊

Warmest regards,

Jess
